| The Whole Foods Market is now what represents an enormously
successful undertaking. It’s sales on a per square foot basis are unprecedented, even in Santa Monica.
The market stretches over an entire city block, but one whose depth after dedication is a narrow 107’.
The narrow site made what would be difficult for most markets more difficult, two levels of
subterranean parking. The market above the subterranean garage is quite unusual. It features an elegant raised copper clad entry canopy that shades windows that provide pedestrian oriented vistas into the store.
